Frequently asked questions

Before you book a call.

Is this therapy?

No. This is a parenting support programme, not a clinical or therapeutic service. Tyler is a trained NVR practitioner, not a psychologist or therapist. If you or your child need clinical support, Tyler can help point you in the right direction, but this programme is educational and skills-based in nature.

What if I miss a session?

Sessions are not recorded, but Tyler will send you the materials for any session you miss and make sure you can continue. Life happens, missing the odd session won't derail your progress, though consistent attendance makes a big difference.

What support do I get between sessions?

Two things. An AI practice companion tailored to NVR, so you can work through what's happening in the moment rather than waiting for the next session. And WhatsApp support: prompts that help the changes actually stick at home instead of fading by Wednesday, plus a weekly Q&A on WhatsApp where you can bring Tyler a specific situation and get his input directly.

What age children is this for?

NVR is effective with children from around age 5 through to young adults. The principles apply across the full age range, the approach adapts to the situation, not just the age. If you are unsure whether it's a fit for your family, the discovery call is the right place to find out.

Do I need to attend with my partner?

No. Many parents on this programme attend alone, including single parents and those whose partners are not able or willing to join. NVR is specifically designed to work even when only one parent is doing it. If you'd both like to join as a couple, that's welcome too, each of you will need your own booked place, since cohorts are capped at 20.

Do I need to do an introduction session first?

No. There is no separate introduction course to complete before this one. The free discovery call is all the preparation you need. If it's a good fit, you join the 12-week programme directly.

Who leads the sessions?

Tyler leads every session personally. You are not handed off to a rotating panel of facilitators, you are working with the same practitioner for the full 12 weeks.

Can I get funding to cover the cost?

Some parents are able to get support from their child's school, a social worker, or a local authority early help team. If you think this might apply to you, mention it on your discovery call and Tyler can provide anything in writing you need to request funding.

What if my child refuses to engage or doesn't know I'm on this programme?

That is completely fine. NVR does not require your child to participate, agree, or even know about it. You are working on your own responses and presence, and that alone is enough to change the dynamic at home.

How is this different from other parenting courses?

Most parenting programmes are built around managing behaviour with strategies: consequences, rewards, routines. NVR starts from a completely different place: your relationship with your child, your own presence, and how you respond rather than react. It is particularly effective in situations where those other strategies have already been tried and have not worked.

What if I can't afford the full fee?

Instalment options are available. Please mention this when you book your discovery call and Tyler will work something out with you.

What if I'm not sure this is right for me?

Book a free discovery call. There is no obligation, no pressure, and no hard sell. It is a 30-minute conversation where you can ask questions, share what is going on at home, and Tyler will give you an honest view of whether this programme is the right fit.
